Abstract

Fire is one of the most frequent disasters occurring in various environments, ranging from households to offices, and it can cause both material losses and human casualties. Fire prevention efforts rely heavily on the availability of early detection systems that can provide rapid warnings, allowing preventive actions to be taken immediately. This study aims to design and implement a simple fire detection system based on Arduino Uno with the support of a flame sensor, buzzer, and LED as early warning devices. The research method was experimental, consisting of component preparation, circuit design, programming using Arduino IDE, and prototype testing. The test results showed that the system was able to detect fire quickly and accurately, indicated by the illumination of the LED as a visual indicator and the buzzer as an audible alarm. These findings prove that the Arduino-based fire detection prototype can function effectively, offering a simple, economical, and efficient solution for fire prevention at small to medium scale. The implication of this study suggests that similar systems can be further developed by integrating Internet of Things (IoT) technology to support remote monitoring and wider detection coverage.
