Abstract

This study analyzes and implements SIMADU-UMKOTA, an integrated web-based internship information system developed at Universitas Muhammadiyah Kolaka Utara. The background of this study lies in the growing need for digital transformation of internship management in higher education to ensure transparency, accountability, and integration among stakeholders. The system architecture integrates real-time GPS tracking, role-based access control (RBAC), and multi-user management to facilitate efficient internship supervision and documentation. Using a mixed-method approach and Design Science Research (DSR) framework, this study combines system analysis, direct observation, and usability evaluation through the System Usability Scale (SUS). The results show that SIMADU-UMKOTA achieves a high usability score (83.6), response time of 1.23 seconds, and GPS accuracy of 96.7%. These findings demonstrate that the system effectively supports real-time monitoring, improves administrative workflows, and enhances communication across academic stakeholders. The research contributes both theoretically and practically to digital internship management systems in higher education.
